Supportive Care Program 

This entry level, Conestoga College Certificate prepares individuals for a career as a care provider in a home or community setting.

Canadians 85 years and older are now the fastest growing part of our population, resulting in an increased need for support for this cherished but sometimes vulnerable client. Demand for healthcare workers in Ontario is outstripping supply. PSW's are being recruited to Long Term Care and Hospitals settings leaving a critical shortage of assistance for seniors who want to remain in their homes.

Conestoga College wants to be part of the solution and open the pipeline of trained, enthusiastic individuals for Home Care and Retirement Homes. This ten-week, intensive training focuses on the skills and competencies needed to successfully provide care in the home and community settings, by combining theoretical, practical and work experience. Emphasis is placed on quality, safe and ethical assistance for those in need.
